Robert S. Pashman, MD

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Pashman has served as the principal investigator on several Food and Drug Administration clinical trials. He was named to the Scoliosis Association's Professional Advisory Board in 1999, and he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society, California Orthopedic Society and North American Spine Association.
As a result of his years of study and research into spinal injuries, tumors and deformities, Dr. Pashman is often asked to present educational seminars for the public and to speak to regional and national professional organizations. His presentations cover a wide range of topics, including detection and treatment options for scoliosis and other spinal conditions, findings on new surgical instruments, the latest surgical advances for correcting spinal abnormalities and biomechanics as the discipline relates to surgical interventions. He has also written textbook chapters and articles appearing in orthopedic and other medical journals.
Dr. Pashman received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. He completed a residencies in general surgery at Kaiser Permanente and in orthopedic surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco. He fulfilled a research fellowship in biomechanics at the University of Minnesota before serving as a clinical instructor in the Spine Disorder Service of the University of California, San Francisco.
